Transform generic headings and dense paragraphs into powerful, distilled takeaways that readers can grab instantly.
Distilling is a superpower. Readers can keep only a few takeaways from each section in their minds. Your job: extract the specifics readers need to be persuaded, then package them in headings and openers they can grab instantly.
What makes a great distilled heading?
Compare these:
- Generic: "I. Statement of the Case / A. Factual Background"
- Distilled: "I. The defendant had no expectation of privacy in his bathroom because he 'called police on the phone' and 'asked them' to come inside."
The distilled version is self-explanatory. Readers instantly understand — and may already be persuaded.
Your Task: For each passage below, craft a distilled heading that captures the key takeaway. Your heading should:
- Deliver the point — Readers should get the gist without reading the paragraph
- Be specific — Include the persuasive details, not generic labels
- Be self-explanatory — Make sense on its own
- Frame persuasively — Package facts to support your argument
