Opposing counsel's ridiculous argument that our client breached the contract is laughable and should be rejected out of hand. Anyone with half a brain can see that the contract clearly, unambiguously, and without question supports our position. The defendant is obviously lying about the sequence of events. This is not surprising given defendant's well-documented history of dishonesty in business dealings, including several instances that, while not resulting in legal action, demonstrate a pattern of deceptive behavior that the court should consider. Our client, unlike the morally bankrupt defendant, is an upstanding member of the community who would never breach a contract. The jury should punish the defendant for wasting everyone's time with this frivolous defense. As stated in the landmark case of Henderson v. Parker, which opposing counsel apparently failed to read or understand: "Contract interpretation begins with the plain language." This single case conclusively proves our entire argument and leaves no room for any other interpretation whatsoever.
