- Subject-verb agreement

- Verb tense problems
Passages 5-6: Punctuation Errors
- Missing or misplaced commas
- Apostrophe mistakes
- Semicolon/colon misuse
Passages 7-8: Consistency Errors
- Inconsistent formatting (numbers, dates)
- Capitalization inconsistencies
- Reference errors
Passages 9-10: Subtle Errors
- Homophones (affect/effect, principal/principle)

- Wrong but similar words (complaint/compliant)
- Internal inconsistencies
Proofreading Tips:
- Read slowly — your brain auto-corrects errors when you read fast
- Read backwards (sentence by sentence) to catch spelling errors
- Read aloud to catch missing/extra words
- Check names, dates, and numbers with extra care
- Look for patterns — if you find one comma error, look for more
